Four-year high for Week 10 singleheader
Last Sunday’s NFL singleheader (mostly Chiefs-Titans) averaged an 8.9 rating and 14.84 million viewers on CBS, the highest in Week 10 of the season since 2015 on FOX (11.6, 19.64M).
Ratings increased 6% and viewership 4% from last year on FOX (8.4, 14.24M) and 24% and 25% respectively from 2017 on CBS (7.2, 11.83M).
FOX tops ABC in primetime for second straight college football weekend
FOX averaged a 1.9 rating and 3.17 million viewers for last Saturday’s Iowa State-Oklahoma college football game, up 19% in ratings and 18% in viewership from last year (Texas-Texas Tech: 1.6, 2.68M) and up a tick and 7% respectively from 2017 (TCU-Oklahoma: 1.8, 2.96M).
The Sooners’ narrow win edged ABC’s competing Saturday Night Football game (Clemson-NC State: 1.6, 2.71M), marking the second straight week that FOX has taken top honors in primetime.
It also topped the Maryland-Ohio State Big Noon Saturday game, which had a 1.7 (-48%) and 2.58 million (-50%) — marking the second-straight week that Big Noon was not the top FOX window of the week.
In other action, FOX drew a 1.4 (-13%) and 2.32 million (-12%) for Iowa-Wisconsin; FS1 scored a 0.45 (+15%) and 728,000 (flat) for Baylor-TCU and a 0.33 (+38%) and 569,000 (+57%) for Illinois-Michigan State. The network also scored a 0.40 and 648,000 for Washington-Oregon State last Friday.
Modest bump in EPL viewership so far this season
Coverage of the English Premier League has averaged 469,000 viewers on the NBC family of networks this season, up 8% from the same point last year (434K). Last Saturday’s Arsenal-Liverpool match averaged a 0.52 rating and 779,000 viewers on the NBC broadcast network, marking the season’s largest audience since September 14 (Manchester City-Norwich: 807K).
Last Sunday’s Manchester City-Liverpool match averaged a 0.45 and 733,000 on NBCSN, the top EPL audience on cable since September 1 (Tottenham-Arsenal: 780K).
