PGA Tour will soon announce revised schedule
The PGA Tour is on the verge of announcing a revised 2020 schedule that would see the season resume in mid-June and at least three of the major tournaments rescheduled for late summer and fall, Golfweek reported Thursday.
According to the report, the Tour is waiting to hear the status of the British Open before unveiling the new schedule. The Open would take place September 17-20 if played, but if it is canceled, that spot on the calendar could be occupied by the US Open instead.
As for the other majors, The Masters would move to November and the PGA Championship back to August.
The LPGA Tour has officially announced its revised schedule, which would see play resume June 19. In a separate announcement, the USGA said the US Women’s Open will relocate to December 10-13. [Golfweek 4.2, LPGA 4.3]
