Due to the recently completed 2011 NFL lockout, the HBO series Hard Knocks will take this year off.
HBO Sports and NFL Films have announced that Hard Knocks, the annual reality series chronicling an individual NFL team through training camp, will not be presented this year. The show is expected to return for training camp next season.
In the joint release announcing the move, the HBO and the NFL explained that the “uncertainty of the NFL?s summer schedule and the incredibly expedited timetable this month made it impractical for a team to commit” to the show.
NFL owners locked out players from March to July of this year, the longest work stoppage in the history of the sport.
HBO will air a ten-year anniversary edition of the show on August 31.
