With the World Series hitting Denver at the same time the Broncos host Monday Night Football, the NFL is having to adjust its schedule. If there is a Game 5 of the World Series between the Boston Red Sox and Colorado Rockies, the NFL will move up the start time of the Denver Broncos/Green Bay Packers Monday Night Football game by a half-hour, from 8:30 PM to 8:05.
The NFL Draft is undergoing some scheduling changes. First round coverage of the endlessly hyped event will now begin at 3:00 PM ET, as opposed to the previous time of noon. First day coverage will remain on Saturdays — after rumors of a Friday night start circulated earlier this year — and second day coverage will begin at 10:00 AM, an hour earlier than in past years.
The ongoing California wildfires will likely have a significant effect on sports. The very tip of the iceberg is the effect on the NBA national TV schedule; instead of broadcasting Jazz/Lakers from San Diego on Thursday as previously planned, TNT will air Nuggets/Suns from Phoenix. Nuggets/Suns will give NBA fans their first opportunity to sample the new lead TNT NBA broadcast team of Marv Albert and Reggie Miller.
