For the eighth time in eleven telecasts this season, ratings and viewership dropped for ESPN’s Monday Night Football.
The Week 10 Vikings/Packers Monday Night Football game drew an 8.7 U.S. rating and 14.188 million viewers on ESPN, down 6% in ratings and viewership from Week 10 last year (PHI/WSH: 9.3, 15.032M), but up 34% and 39%, respectively, from 2009 (BAL/CLE: 6.5, 10.196M).
Monday’s game was a 38-point blowout, but last year’s matchup was similarly uncompetitive.
This marks the eighth time this season that ESPN has had a decrease in ratings and viewership for Monday Night Football (eleven telecasts).
Despite the decline, the telecast earned the top audience of Monday night in the adults 18-49 and adults 18-34 demographics.
Locally, the Packers’ win drew a whopping 55.7 rating in Milwaukee (18.4 on ESPN, 37.3 on local affiliate), and a 36.9 in Minneapolis-St. Paul (10.9 on ESPN, 26.0 on local affiliate).
Through Week 11, ESPN has averaged an 8.4 U.S. rating and 13.265 million viewers for Monday Night Football, down 9% in ratings and 10% in viewership from the same point last year (9.2, 14.700M).
