Games 1 and 2 of the NBA Finals finished as the two most watched programs in prime time last week.
Lakers/Celtics Game 2 on Sunday night finished in the top spot, drawing 13.5 million viewers on ABC. Thursday’s Game 1 was the second-most watched program of the week, with 13.4 million. The NBA games finished well ahead of the next most watched television program: a re-run of Two and a Half Men that drew 9.8 million viewers on CBS.
Games 1 and 2 were also the top two programs of the week among adults 18-49, drawing ratings of 5.4 and 5.5, respectively, in the demo.
The other major sporting event in prime time last week was the Stanley Cup Finals. Games 5 and 6 of the Red Wings/Penguins series, which aired Monday and Wednesday on NBC, were not among the 20 most viewed programs.
Both games did finish in the top ten in the adults 18-49 demographic. Game 6 finished #8 for the week, drawing a 2.9 in the demo, while Game 5 finished #10 with a 2.8.
