With high profile events swimming and gymnastics now over, NBC saw its second-lowest rated night of the Olympics in prime time Wednesday, but still dominated the ratings.
NBC drew a 14.9/25 overnight with 24.3 million viewers in prime time (8-11 PM) for coverage of the 2008 Beijing Olympics on Wednesday, down 10% and 11% from a 16.5/27 and 27.2 million in prime time last Wednesday.
Viewership peaked during the 10-10:30 PM half hour, as 29.9 million viewers tuned in to watch taped track and field coverage. NBC’s numbers dropped to 23.98 million viewers during the 10:30 PM half hour, when the network aired diving.
