Jeanne Zelasko is looking for a new gig for next season.
The Arizona Republic reports that Zelasko, the former host of the now-canceled MLB on FOX pregame show, is interested in replacing Charley Steiner as the play-by-play voice of 40 Los Angeles Dodgers telecasts.
Zelasko has never done play-by-play for Major League Baseball games, and would become the first woman to do baseball play-by-play if hired. Zelasko: “I would never ask for something I thought I would fail at. I think it’s gonna take the right woman at the right time, and if I may be so bold, I believe that person’s me.”
Even if Zelasko does not get the job, she will still have a prominent role in baseball broadcasts. The same article says she would “play a major part” in FOX coverage of the MLB All Star Game and the World Series.
