Despite being a matchup of the #1 and #4 media markets, and despite featuring the defending Super Bowl champions, ratings declined for the Eagles/Giants NFC Divisional Game on Sunday.
FOX drew a 20.9/41 overnight rating for the Eagles’ win over the Giants on Sunday, down 1% from a 21.2/42 for Chargers/Colts on CBS in the same timeslot last year. The 20.9 overnight is the lowest for a Sunday Divisional Round game since 2005, when Vikings/Eagles drew a 20.8.
The 20.9 marks a steep 19% drop from the 25.8 for last year’s Sunday Divisional game on FOX — Giants and the Cowboys in the late afternoon window.
