Versus will wave the green flag on its IRL coverage starting next month.
In the first year of a ten-year deal with the IRL, Versus will air at least seven hours per week of IRL related programming. Coverage begins this March with four hours of special programming, led off by “Danica: Five Years Running”, which will air on March 7.
Versus begins its coverage of live races on April 5. Each race will have a three-hour telecast window. Prior to each IRL race, Versus will air two hours of preview programming — one hour the day before the race, and another hour immediately preceding the race.
In addition to the three-hour window for live races, Versus will also air three-hours of IRL programming the day after each race — “[incluidng] Firestone Indy Lights events and encores of Versus? IndyCar Series races.”
Overall, Versus has committed to airing 130 hours of IRL programming during the 2009 season.
