NBA fans on the East Coast will have one fewer complaint this year.
During his annual state of the league news conference, NBA Commissioner David Stern announced that NBA Finals games on Sunday nights will begin at 8 PM ET this year, an hour earlier than other games.
This will be the first time since 2003 that any NBA Finals game has begun earlier than 9 PM ET.
In 2003, each game of the NBA Finals began at 8:30 PM ET. That year’s NBA Finals was the lowest rated ever, prompting the league to push the start times back the next year.
