If the current trend continues, it may not be long before NBA All Star Saturday Night draws better ratings than the actual All-Star Game.
NBA All Star Saturday Night drew a stellar 3.5 U.S. rating and 5.8 million viewers on TNT Saturday night, up 11% in ratings and 12% in viewership from a 3.1 and 5.2 million for the same event last year. The event finishes as the highest rated, most viewed All Star Saturday Night in history.
(Update: Actually, NBA All-Star Saturday Night drew a 3.9 U.S. rating and 6.6 million viewers).
All Star Saturday Night saw double-digit growth in key demographics, including a 15% jump among adults 18-49 and a 20% jump among adults 18-34.
This marks the third straight year All Star Saturday Night has drawn record high ratings. By contrast, heading into Sunday’s game, the actual NBA All Star Game has drawn record low ratings each of the past four years.
