ESPN drew strong numbers for Wednesday night’s rivalry game between Duke and North Carolina.
North Carolina’s victory drew 3.3 million viewers on ESPN Wednesday night, up 65% from 2.0 million for Duke/Clemson in the same timeslot last week. Compared to last year’s UNC/Duke matchups, the 3.3 million viewers is up 27% from 2.6 million for their game on February 6, but down 41% from 5.6 million for their game on March 8.
Both of last year’s UNC/Duke games aired on ESPN.
UNC/Duke drew a 1.4/4 rating among adults 18-49, tying the game as Wednesday night’s “second highest-rated show in the demo for all of cable.”
