Tiger Woods‘ return helped PGATour.com to record numbers on Wednesday.
Bolstered by Woods’ first PGA Tour event since his injury last summer, PGATour.com streamed 2.5 million videos on Wednesday, an all-time record for a single day.
Additionally, the site drew 24 million page views on Wednesday, up 119% from 10.7 million for the first round of last year’s Accenture Match Play Championships, and 1 million unique visitors — the second-most for a single day in its history, behind only 1.5 million on June 16 of last year, the day of Woods’ U.S. Open playoff against Rocco Mediate.
The Golf Channel projects that yesterday’s first round coverage of the Accenture Match Play Championships will finish as the net’s “highest-ever first-round PGA Tour coverage and probably the highest rating ever on the network.”
