Blazermania has apparently hit a new high.
The Blazers’ Game 2 victory over the Rockets on Tuesday night drew an astronomical 27.5 rating in Portland, reports The Oregonian. The 27.5 is a substantial increase over the 16.9 for Game 1 of the series on Saturday night.
Game 2 aired only on Portland’s local affiliate, as the national NBA TV simulcast was blacked out.
The game outdrew American Idol 21.4 to 10.8 — a difference of 98% — during the time the two programs aired head-to-head.
