- The NBA Playoffs are off to a good start in several markets. In Portland, the Blazers blowout Game 1 loss to the Rockets drew stellar a 16.9 rating, with the local broadcast drawing an 11.3 and the ESPN version averaging a 5.6. Meanwhile, Game 2 between the Spurs and Mavericks drew a whopping 18.9 rating in San Antonio and an impressive 11.7 in Dallas.
- The Red Wings have seen big ratings for their first round series. Game 3 between the Red Wings and Blue Jackets drew a 12.0 rating on FS Detroit, the highest rating for a Red Wings telecast on the net in five years. Through the first three games, the Red Wings/Blue Jackets series is averaging a 10.4 in Detroit.
- The Rangers’ playoff run cannot compare to regular season baseball in New York. The Rangers’ Game 1 win over the Capitals drew a 2.47 rating on MSG last Wednesday. Meanwhile, games involving the Yankees and Mets the same day drew ratings of 3.8 and 3.91, respectively. Still, MSG Network is likely not complaining about Rangers ratings; Game 3 between the Rangers and Capitals drew a 2.72, the highest rating for a Rangers game in New York since 1997.
