One of the more divisive voices in sports media is leaving ESPN.
Stephen A. Smith has confirmed a report by the website The Big Lead that he will leave ESPN. In an article on his blog entitled “Goodbye ESPN!!!“, Smith writes that his last day on ESPN will be May 1.
Smith arrived at ESPN in 2003 as an analyst on NBA Shootaround and quickly became of the network’s most prominent voices. For a brief time, he hosted his own talk show on ESPN2. More recently, he has made sporadic appearances on SportsCenter and ESPN First Take.
