Magic fans have hopped onto the bandwagon with gusto, if the ratings are any indication.
The Magic’s Game 3 win over the Cavaliers drew a 16.2 rating in Orlando Sunday night, the highest rating of the season for a Magic telecast in the market. The 16.2 tops a 16.0 for Magic/Celtics Game 7 the previous Sunday.
The 16.2 comes on the heels of a 14.6 for the Magic’s stunning loss to the Cavaliers on Friday night.
Games 2 and 3 dominated the local competition. Sunday’s Game 3 topped “the next best showing,” an episode of 60 Minutes on CBS, by 100%. Friday’s Game 2 beat the next highest rated program, Dateline NBC, by 232%.
The last four Magic telecasts have averaged a 15.2 rating in the Orlando market, compared to an 8.8 for the previous six games.
