- Charles Barkley: The TNT NBA analyst went off the air in somewhat controversial fashion on Saturday night, jokingly using an inappropriate word to describe producer Tim Kiely just before TNT ended its NBA coverage. A TNT spokesman told Sports Illustrated, “While Charles often makes jokes about his producer during our telecasts, he used poor judgment … His comment was inappropriate and TNT apologizes to our viewers.”
- Matt Millen: The newly-minted ESPN football analyst is “the leader in the … clubhouse” to replace Cris Collinsworth on NFL Network broadcasts this season, reports Sports Illustrated. Millen is just one of several candidates to fill the vacancy in the NFL Network booth, including Brian Billick, Joe Theismann and Marshall Faulk.
- Doris Burke: The ESPN NBA analyst will be the sole sideline reporter on ABC’s coverage of the upcoming NBA Finals. This will be the first time Burke has been part of the NBA Finals broadcast team, and this will be the second straight year ABC uses only one sideline reporter for the Finals.
