Opposite the Cowboys and Brett Favre, and without the Patriots and Steelers, CBS got off to a less-than-stellar start to the NFL season.
Regional coverage featuring Jets/Texans drew an 8.2 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon, down 26% from last year’s strong 11.0/24 overnight, and off 23% from a 10.6/23 in ’07.
This marks the lowest overnight for the NFL on CBS in Week 1 of the season since at least ’01.
CBS drew the lowest rating of the day for NFL coverage, well behind FOX (9.4 and 15.0) and NBC (13.4).
