With help from some marquee attractions, FOX scored a touchdown in the ratings on Sunday.
Regional NFL coverage featuring Washington against the Giants drew a 15.0/29 overnight rating late Sunday afternoon, up 5% from a 14.3/28 for Cowboys/Browns last year, and up 6% from a 14.2/27 for Bears/Chargers in ’07.
This marks the highest overnight for a Week 1 NFL telecast on FOX since ’04.
Earlier in the day, regional coverage featuring the Cowboys and Brett Favre‘s Vikings debut drew a 9.4 overnight, up 57% from a 6.0 last year, and up 12% from an 8.4 in ’07.
Overall, FOX averaged a 12.2 overnight rating for NFL coverage on Sunday, up 20% from a 10.2 last year, and up 8% from an 11.3 in ’07.
