Rain has swept the women’s final of the U.S. Open off of CBS.
According to the most recently updated schedule, ESPN2 will air the women’s final of the U.S. Open on Sunday night at 9 PM ET. The match will also be available on USOpen.org.
The women’s final was originally scheduled to air on Saturday night on CBS, but was pushed back due to rain. CBS will instead air the S. Williams/Clijsters semifinal on Saturday night.
After similar weather problems last year, CBS aired the S. Williams/Jankovic final on a Sunday night. The match drew a 3.3 rating, the highest for the women’s final of the U.S. Open since ’02.
With the women’s final moving to Sunday, the men’s final of the U.S. Open will take place on Monday for the second straight year. CBS will provide coverage beginning at 4 PM ET. Last year, several affiliates across the country declined to air the Monday afternoon Federer/Murray final.
