A battle of big-market, 3-1 teams gave NBC strong ratings on Sunday night.
The Falcons’ win over the Bears drew a 12.0/19 overnight rating on NBC Sunday night, up 28% from Patriots/Chargers in Week 6 last year (9.4/15), and up 43% from Saints/Seahawks in ’07 (8.4/13).
This marks the highest overnight for Sunday Night Football since Week 2, when Giants/Cowboys drew a 16.1.
Bears/Falcons trounced Game 3 of the NLCS on TBS by 224%. Additionally, the 12.0 overnight rating is the highest ever for NBC Sunday Night Football opposite the MLB League Championship Series.
Sunday’s game drew a 33.9/50 in Chicago and a 26.9/40 in Atlanta. Denver — former home of Bears’ QB Jay Cutler — was the top neutral market, drawing a 19.2/29.
