Despite the featured game turning into an epic blowout, CBS still drew strong numbers for NFL coverage late Sunday afternoon.
Regional NFL action featuring the Patriots’ 59-0 win over the Titans drew a 14.9 overnight rating on CBS Sunday, down 8% from a 16.1 for Cowboys/Cardinals on FOX during Week 6 last year, but up 4% from a 14.3 for Patriots/Broncos last week.
The 14.9 overnight is the fifth-highest of the season for an NFL telecast.
Part of the reason for the strong rating may be the fact that CBS’ coverage leaked well into primetime, thanks to an overtime Jets/Bills game.
Earlier in the day, regional action featuring Ravens/Vikings drew a healthy 10.6 overnight rating, up 5% from a 10.1 for the comparable window on FOX last year, and up 23% from an 8.6 for coverage featuring Raiders/Giants last week.
