ESPN/ABC college football analyst Bob Griese got into some hot water for a comment about NASCAR driver Juan Pablo Montoya.
During Saturday’s Ohio State/Minnesota game, ESPN ran a promo for Sunday’s NASCAR race on ABC. When a graphic displaying the Top 5 Sprint Cup standings did not include Montoya, Griese’s colleague Chris Speilman asked where he was.
In response, Griese joked, “He’s out having taco.”
At the end of the game, Griese apologized for his comment. “Juan Pablo Montoya, he’s one of the best drivers in NASCAR. … Just want to apologize for the comment I made earlier in the ballgame.”
