After two weeks of massive ratings, the NFL’s national game slumped to its second-lowest numbers of the season on CBS.
Sunday’s NFL national window, featuring Chargers/Giants, drew an 11.8/22 final rating and 19.3 million viewers on CBS — down 18% and 17%, respectively, from a 14.3/26 and 23.3 million for Cowboys/Giants on FOX in Week 9 last year.
Chargers/Giants stands as the second-lowest rated, second-least viewed NFL national game of the season, behind only Steelers/Bengals in Week 3, also on CBS (10.9, 18.2 mil). This is only the second time this season that the national game has drawn fewer than 20 million viewers.
NBC’s Cowboys/Eagles Sunday Night Football game outdrew Chargers/Giants by double-digits in ratings and viewership, marking the first time since Week 2 that SNF has outdrawn the NFL national game.
