At least in television ratings, Brett Favre‘s drama could not top the New Orleans Saints’ excellence.
Monday’s Patriots/Saints game drew a 14.4 overnight on ESPN, the highest of the season for Monday Night Football — topping the 14.2 Packers/Vikings drew in October.
That Packers/Vikings game finished as the most-viewed program in cable television history, with 21.8 million viewers.
Patriots/Saints drew a 66.7/84 in New Orleans and a 35.0 in Boston.
The 14.4 overnight was the second-largest of Week 12 (including Thanksgiving Day games), behind only Sunday’s national window on FOX (16.3).
