The continued unraveling of Tiger Woods‘ life could be considered tragic, or at the very least unfortunate. Or, if you’re Yahoo! CEO Carol Bartz, a godsend.
“God bless Tiger,” Bartz reportedly said at the UBS Global Media and Communications Conference on Wednesday, “This week we got a huge uplift: Front Page, News, Sports, Gossip. He just filtered through the whole place.”
How big has the story been for Yahoo!? Bartz said the story has been “better than Michael Jackson dying; it is kind of hard to put an ad next to a funeral.”
Meanwhile, Woods appears to be on thin ice with at least two of his sponsors. USA Today‘s Christine Brennan e-mailed an AT&T spokesman on Wednesday, asking whether the company would continue its relationship with Woods.
The response? “We have no comment.” When asked whether Woods has a morals clause in his contract, the spokesman had the same response.
Brennan also contacted Accenture with the same question, but never heard back.
