Much of the focus has been on primetime, but NBC is also doing well with afternoon and late night coverage of the 2010 Winter Games.
Weekday (Monday-Friday) coverage of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics averaged 5.8 million viewers on NBC last week, up 31% from 2006 (Turin, 4.5 mil), and up 26% from 2002 (Salt Lake City, 4.6 mil).
Meanwhile, three weekend afternoon telecasts averaged 12.0 million viewers, up 26% from ’06 (9.6 mil), but down 9% from ’02 (13.2 mil).
NBC has also seen a slight rise for late night coverage, as the network’s eight late night windows have averaged 5.4 million viewers, up 3% from Turin (5.3 mil).
