ESPN drew impressive numbers for college basketball action last week.
Last Saturday’s Kansas/Kansas St. matchup drew a 1.9 U.S. rating and 2.9 million viewers, ranking as the network’s most-viewed regular season Big 12 Conference game since ’97.
The game also stands as ESPN’s second-highest rated, second-most-viewed college basketball telecast of the season — behind only North Carolina/Texas from Cowboys Stadium in December (2.1, 3 mil).
Earlier in the day, Vanderbilt/Kentucky drew a 1.6 U.S. rating and 2.7 million viewers, and Louisville/West Virginia drew a 1.3 and 1.9 million.
Also last week, the January 26 Kentucky/South Carolina Super Tuesday telecast drew a 1.7 U.S. rating and 2.6 million viewers, and the January 25 Georgetown/Syracuse Big Monday telecast drew a 1.2 and 1.8 million.
Overall, three college basketball games on ESPN last week drew more viewers than the top game of the week on CBS (Duke/Georgetown).
