Georgetown’s win over Duke drew a 1.6 final rating and 2.4 million viewers on CBS last Saturday, up 78% in ratings from regional action on the comparable date last year (0.9).
Duke/Georgetown ranks as CBS’ 4th-highest rated, 4th most-viewed college basketball telecast of the young season.
Additionally, Saturday’s game was the third-most viewed sporting event of the week on broadcast, behind only the final round of the Farmers Insurance Open (3.1 mil) and Lakers/Celtics on ABC (5.7 mil).
On Sunday, regional action (Florida/Tennessee or Minnesota/Ohio St.) drew a 1.3 final rating and 1.9 million viewers. There was no telecast on the comparable date last year (2/1/09, Super Bowl Sunday).
