The surprising Oklahoma City Thunder are attracting quite a few more eyeballs locally.
The January 26 Nuggets/Thunder matchup drew a 4.0 rating on Fox Sports Oklahoma, the highest rating yet for a Thunder telecast on the network. The previous record was a 3.9 for Lakers/Thunder on November 3.
So far this season, ratings for Thunder telecasts on FS Oklahoma and local affiliate KSBI are up 50%.
Last year, Thunder telecasts averaged just a 1.14 rating and 8,000 homes for the full season. The 8,000 homes was the second-fewest for any NBA team, ahead of only the Bobcats (6,000).
