Overnight ratings for the Farmers Insurance Open jumped double-digits from last year, but remained well below 2008 — when Tiger Woods last played in the event.
Final round coverage of the Farmers Insurance Open, won by Ben Crane, drew a 2.4 overnight rating on CBS Sunday afternoon — up 14% from last year (2.1), but down 48% from 2008 (4.6).
The 2.4 overnight is tied as the second-lowest for final round coverage of the event since at least ’99. This marks only the third time since ’99 that final round coverage has drawn less than a 3.5 overnight.
Despite the relatively low number, this is the first time since 2006 that overnight ratings have increased for the event.
Third round coverage on Saturday drew a 1.7 overnight, up 13% from last year (1.5), but down 47% from ’08 (3.2).
