Viewers are tuning into the Stanley Cup Playoffs in numbers not seen for nearly a decade.
The Stanley Cup Playoffs have averaged 1.0 million viewers on NBC and Versus through the Conference Finals, up 8% from last year, and the highest average entering the Stanley Cup Final since 2002.
On NBC in particular, games averaged 1.9 million viewers — up 5% from last year, and the highest average for the Stanley Cup Playoffs on broadcast TV since 2002 (2.3 mil).
Ratings and viewership for last week’s Flyers/Canadiens Game 4 and Sharks/Blackhawks Game 4 on NBC were not immediately available.
On Versus, viewership was up 15% through Friday, to 833,000. Numbers for Monday’s Canadiens/Flyers Game 5 were not immediately available.
