The finale of the Western Conference Finals put up strong numbers for TNT, but the game appears to be on pace for yet another decline from last year.
The Lakers’ Game 6 win over the Suns drew a 5.8 overnight rating on TNT Saturday night, down 9% from Game 5 on Thursday (6.4) and even with Game 4 on Tuesday (5.8).
Overnight ratings for last year’s Cavaliers/Magic Game 6 were not immediately available, but that game drew a 5.2 final rating.
Final ratings for the Conference Finals have declined anywhere from 16% to 21% from the overnight, putting Saturday’s game on pace to finish in the 4.6-4.9 range.
None of the games in the Conference Finals were able to match the overnight of Cavaliers/Celtics Game 6 on May 13 (7.1).
Lakers/Suns Game 6 on cable more than doubled the overnight rating of Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final on broadcast network NBC (2.8).
