Cavalier fans will have to wait a few more weeks to yell and scream at LeBron James, as the rumor that had the Heat visiting the Cavaliers on Opening Night is apparently bunk.
According to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer, James and the Heat will visit the Cavaliers on Thursday, December 2 on TNT. On Monday, a separate Plain-Dealer article had Heat/Cavaliers on Opening Night (Tuesday, October 26), citing unnamed sources.
The Heat will still apparently play on Opening Night, as the Boston Globe and South Florida Sun-Sentinel have them facing the Celtics in Boston. Additionally, the much hyped clash between the Heat and Lakers will reportedly take place on Christmas Day, marking the fourth time since in the past seven Christmases that the teams have played each other.
Previous reports that the Heat would play the Magic in Orlando on October 28 appear to be inaccurate, as other reports now have the Magic playing the Heat in Miami on October 29.
As an aside, does this remind anyone of NBA free agency, when Dwyane Wade was leaning towards the Bulls and LeBron James was supposed to visit Allan Houston‘s house for his TV special?
Other reported games: Bulls/Thunder on October 27, Heat/76ers on October 27, Celtics/Cavaliers on October 27 and Heat/Cavaliers on March 29.
