Overnight ratings increased by double-digits for both games of Sunday’s NFL doubleheader on CBS.
The Week 3 NFL national window, featuring Colts/Broncos, drew a 14.2 overnight rating on CBS Sunday — up 13% from last year (PIT/CIN*: 12.6) and up 5% from Week 3 in 2008 (PIT/PHI*: 13.5).
Despite the increase, the 14.2 overnight is easily the lowest of the young season for the NFL national window — trailing the first two telecasts of the season (17.1 in Week 1 and 16.7 in Week 2) by a wide margin.
For the third straight week, the national window drew the largest NFL overnight of the weekend, topping Sunday Night Football on NBC (13.0).
Earlier in the day, regional NFL action featuring Titans/Giants drew a 10.5 overnight rating, up 13% from last year (TEN/NYJ*: 9.3) and up 2% from Week 3 in 2008 (CIN/NYG*: 10.3).
So far this season, CBS is averaging a 12.8 overnight rating for NFL coverage, up 13% from last year (11.3).
