CBS NFL analyst Shannon Sharpe is reportedly taking a leave of absence from The NFL Today due to recent legal issues.
Sharpe was served with a temporary restraining order late last week, with a hearing scheduled for next Monday. According to the website Sports By Brooks, Sharpe released a statement on Tuesday saying he would “step aside from the NFL Today until this matter is resolved.”
The Associated Press reported last week that the case was “classified under the ‘family violence’ category.”
Sports By Brooks says it has obtained the restraining order, which reportedly accuses Sharpe of multiple illegal activities.
Sharpe joined CBS in 2004.
