Despite airing directly opposite the NFL national window in over a third of the country, Sunday’s NFL telecast on FOX had a modest rise in overnight ratings.
Sunday’s NFL singleheader, featuring Giants/Seahawks, drew a 10.8 overnight rating on FOX — up 6% from Week 9 last year (AZ/CHI: 10.2, FOX), and up 14% from Week 9 in 2008 (NYJ/BUF*: 9.5, CBS).
As mentioned above, the primary game of Sunday’s telecast was Giants/Seahawks, which aired in 36% of the country. That game began 4 PM ET, airing directly opposite the NFL national window on CBS (17.1 overnight) in many markets.
Typically, the primary game of the singleheader window takes place at 1 PM ET.
The 10.8 overnight is the fourth-lowest of the season for the NFL singleheader (nine telecasts), but marks the highest overnight for the window since Week 6.
