Two weeks into the season, ratings and viewership for the NBA on TNT are up by a quarter and third, respectively.
Through six games, TNT has averaged a 2.0 U.S. rating and 3.150 million viewers for NBA coverage, up 25% in ratings and 33% in viewership from last year (1.6, 2.370 mil).
The 2.0 average rating also marks a 67% increase from the comparable point two years ago (1.2).
The network earned a 1.3 U.S. rating and 2.004 million viewers for Knicks/Bulls last Thursday night, down 13% and 15%, respectively, from last year (CHI/CLE: 1.6, 2.354 mil).
Meanwhile, the Thunder/Blazers nightcap scored a 1.2 and 1.734 million viewers. Numbers for last year’s comparable Spurs/Jazz game were unavailable.
Of note, multiple outlets report that the October 26 Rockets/Lakers game drew a 2.8 U.S. rating and 4.219 million viewers — up 33% and 26%, respectively, from the previous year’s matchup.
The numbers released by Turner Sports on October 27 had the game drawing a 2.4 and 3.719 million viewers.
