CBS had a double-digit rise in overnight ratings for Saturday’s Mississippi/LSU game, but the numbers were not necessarily impressive.
LSU’s win over Mississippi earned a 3.0 overnight rating on CBS Saturday afternoon, up 15% from the same matchup last year (LSU/MISS: 2.6), but down 19% from 2008 (FLA/SC: 3.7).
Despite the increase, the 3.0 overnight is the fifth-lowest for a college football game on CBS this season (13 telecasts), and the third-lowest for a game in the 3:30 PM ET window (10 telecasts).
Saturday’s matchup finished behind both games of ABC’s college football doubleheader, but topped NBC’s primetime Army/Notre Dame game by 30%.
