Overnight ratings held steady for the sixth Notre Dame game of the season on NBC, but still remained very low.
NBC earned a 1.5 overnight for Tulsa’s win over Notre Dame Saturday afternoon, even with the network’s sixth game last year (WSU/ND: 1.5), and up 7% from the sixth game in 2008 (SYR/ND: 1.4).
Last year’s Washington State/Notre Dame game was held at a neutral site (San Antonio) and aired in primetime. The 2008 Syracuse/Notre Dame game aired in late November and was NBC’s final telecast of the season.
This marks the third straight Notre Dame telecast on NBC to draw a 1.5 overnight or lower. The previous two games each drew a 1.4. Last year, only two of NBC’s eight telecasts drew a 1.5 or lower — the aforementioned Washington State telecast and the Nevada/Notre Dame season opener (1.3).
Saturday’s telecast was topped head-to-head by Georgia/Florida on CBS (3.5) and regional college football action on ABC (3.3).
