Ratings dropped by a tick for Sunday’s Chargers/Colts tilt on NBC.
NBC earned an 11.4 final rating and 19.100 million viewers for the Chargers’ dominant win, down 1% in ratings and viewership from Week 12 last year (PIT/BAL: 11.5, 19.210 mil), but up 20% and 26%, respectively, from the same matchup in Week 12 two years ago (IND/SD: 9.5, 15.168 mil).
The telecast ranks as the fourth-lowest rated, fourth-least viewed NFL telecast of the season on NBC (13 telecasts).
Despite the slight drop, Sunday’s game completed a milestone month for NBC. According to the network, Sunday Night Football averaged 20.9 million viewers in November, the largest average viewership for any NFL primetime package during the month since 1996.
Additionally, Chargers/Colts drew the third-largest primetime audience of the week on broadcast, and ranked #1 in all key adult and male demographics — including adults 18-49 (7.1).
For the season, NBC is averaging a 12.8 rating and 21.3 million viewers for SNF, up 8% in ratings and 9% in viewership from last year (11.8, 19.5 mil), and up 27 and 31%, respectively, from 2008 (10.1, 16.3 mil).
