Monday Night Football will stay on ESPN well into the next decade, Sports Business Daily reports.
Citing multiple sources, Sports Business Daily reported Thursday that ESPN has agreed to a $2 billion/year extension of its media rights deal with the NFL. The extension will keep Monday Night Football on ESPN for “nine or 10 years, which would take it up to 2022-23.”
Under the extension, ESPN/ABC will not be in the rotation for Super Bowls, and ESPN will “not have the rights to televise any NFL playoff games, at least not initially.”
In addition to Monday Night Football, ESPN will retain rights to the NFL Draft.
