Overnight ratings increased by double-digits for Saturday’s NCAA Tournament coverage.
Third round coverage of the 2011 NCAA Tournament averaged a combined 6.7 overnight rating across CBS, TNT and TBS Saturday, up 12% from last year’s comparable telecasts on CBS (6.0).
In the afternoon, CBS drew a 4.1 overnight for Kentucky/West Virginia (12:00-2:45 PM ET), and a hefty 5.4 for Florida/UCLA (3:00-5:15 PM).
The first evening window (6:00-9:30 PM) scored a tournament-high 9.0 overnight across CBS, TNT and TBS. That window included San Diego State’s double-overtime win over Temple on TNT, and Butler’s close win over Pittsburgh on TBS.
In the nightcap (7:45 PM-12:15 AM), the three networks combined for an 8.4 overnight.
Overnights for last year’s individual telecast windows were not available.
