CBS and TBS got off to a strong start for the NCAA Tournament’s Sweet Sixteen.
Thursday’s Sweet Sixteen coverage averaged a combined 8.6 overnight rating on CBS and TBS, up 28% from last year’s coverage on CBS alone (6.7), and the highest average for the Thursday Sweet Sixteen games since 1993 (9.0).
In the early window, Connecticut/San Diego State on CBS and Florida/BYU on TBS combined for an 8.5 overnight rating, up 37% from regional coverage on CBS last year (6.2).
Later in the night, Arizona/Duke on CBS and Butler/Wisconsin on TBS combined for an 8.7, up 21% from last year (7.2).
Through Thursday’s games, the NCAA Tournament is averaging a combined 6.5 overnight across CBS, TNT, TBS and TruTV, up 18% from last year (5.5).
