Game 2 of the Celtics/Heat series did not come close to the massive numbers generated for Game 1, but still scored for TNT.
Tuesday’s Game 2 between the Celtics and Heat drew a 4.5 overnight rating on TNT, up 96% from last year (ATL/ORL G1: 2.3). It should be pointed out that last year’s game was a 43-point blowout.
Game 2 of the series came well short of the 7.0 overnight for Game 1 on ABC.
The game drew a 16.2 rating in Miami-Ft. Lauderdale and an 11.1 in Boston.
Later in the night, Grizzlies/Thunder Game 2 drew a 3.7 overnight. Despite featuring two of the three smallest markets in the NBA, the game drew a higher overnight than last year’s comparable Laker telecast (UTA/LAL G2: 3.6).
The game earned a 19.6 rating in Memphis and an 18.8 in Oklahoma City.
