The Olympic Games will remain on the NBC family of networks for the next decade, reports the Associated Press.
Citing sources with knowledge of the decision, the Associated Press reported Tuesday that NBC Universal will retain rights to the Summer and Winter Olympic Games through 2020.
In addition to next year’s Summer Olympics from London, the NBC family of networks will televise the 2014 Sochi Winter Games, the 2016 Rio Summer Games, and the 2018 and 2020 Olympics from locations yet to be determined.
The deal is reportedly worth more than $4 billion.
ESPN and FOX were also involved in the bidding for the Olympic Games. With former NBC Sports Group Chairman Dick Ebersol having recently resigned, it was thought that NBC could be in danger of losing Olympic rights.
