Despite a less-than-ideal weekday afternoon timeslot, the final game of the Rangers/Rays American League Division Series had an increase in ratings and viewership on TBS.
Game 4 between the Rangers and Rays earned a 1.7 U.S. rating and 2.228 million viewers on TBS Tuesday afternoon, up 13% in ratings and 0.4% in viewership from the comparable game of the fifth day of last year’s postseason (TB/TEX G4: 1.5, 2.219M), but down 19% and 24%, respectively, from 2009 (LAA/BOS G3: 2.1, 2.936M).
The 2010 and 2009 games aired on Sunday afternoons. There was no comparable Tuesday afternoon game last year.
Locally, the game drew a 10.6 rating in Tampa-St. Petersburg and a 7.8 in Dallas-Ft. Worth.
