Not surprisingly, the Yankees’ first winner-take-all game in six years scored strong numbers for Turner Sports.
Thursday’s Game 5 of the Tigers/Yankees American League Division Series earned a 7.3 overnight on TBS, the second-highest overnight ever for a Division Series game on the network.
Only Indians/Yankees Game 4 in 2007 — the last time the Yankees were eliminated in the Division Series — earned a better overnight (7.5).
For some perspective, the 7.3 overnight is on par with the numbers for the Heat/Bulls NBA Eastern Conference Finals on TNT in May (low of 7.2, high of 7.7).
